How to Calculate Standard Form?

Standard form is a way of writing numbers that makes them easier to compare. To calculate standard form, you need to move the decimal point in the number until there is only one digit to the left of the decimal point. You then multiply the number by 10, 100, 1000, etc. depending on how many places you moved the decimal point. For example, if the number is 1234.567, you would move the decimal point three places to the left, making it 1.234567. You would then multiply it by 1000, giving you 1,234.567 in standard form.
